A synthetic rubber and fluoropolymer elastomer, Viton is used to make oil seals that provide resistance in both high temperature, up to 250°C and low compression set components. They have great resistance to petroleum oils and fuels, mineral oils and greases, solvents, hydraulic fluids, water, and steam. Viton® oil seals are used preferably in chemical exposure situations and for hard vacuum service.
