Description

An O-ring, or torus, is a doughnut-shaped object or mechanical gasket generally made from an elastomer. O-rings can also be made from PTFE, other plastic materials, metals, and be made hollow or solid. O-rings often have a round cross-section.

O-rings commonly provide a pressure and fluid seal between cylindrically shaped, overlapping mating surfaces and are commonly used for engines, faucets, flanges, valves, and various cylinders.

EPDM

EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. Few rubbers can withstand extremely cold temperatures like EPDM.

EPDM compresses well and is highly resistant to tears, abrasion and steam. Also, this durable synthetic rubber won't degrade under UV conditions. EPDM's all-round durability has seen it employed across a wide range of applications, including O-rings, automotive cooling systems, and as insulation in freezer room seals. For a low-cost sealing material that performs well in outdoor applications, EPDM is a good choice.
